On Monday, September 29nd from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, students at Jewish People’s and Peretz School (JPPS) will participate in their first annual FunRun. The goal of this event is to raise funds for their amazing S.T.I.M Program (Sciences, Technologie, Ingénierie and Mathématiques). The S.T.I.M program integrates science, math, engineering and technology into other subjects, making everything more interesting. With S.T.I.M, students perform hands–on exploring activities to help them comprehend how science and engineering work together in the real world. Monies raised will go towards vital, state–of–the–art technologies such as a 3D colour printer, digital microscopes and document cameras that work with Smartboards and many other tools that will help students learn to solve and understand real–life problems.

JPPS has always emphasized the importance of physical activity. Every “mile" we log on this run will be turned into funds raised: this will help us obtain state–of–the–art technologies that will prepare our students for the 21st century world and job market. We have set a school wide goal of $20,000 to improve our existing program. If each student raises $72.00 or more, we will be well on our way towards an incredible and enhanced S.T.I.M program! A portion of the funds raised will be donated to the Israeli Victims Of War Association (IVOW). IVOW was founded in 1984 to support Bar and Bat Mitzvah age children of bereaved families; parents who have lost their lives, or have been disabled while on military duty or who have been victims of terror.
